This film tells the story of the nûba, a genre of Arab-Andalusian music. As a musical tree, its branches were nourished by sap that flowed in from Morocco 14 centuries ago. It then absorbed currents from Arabia, developed in the courts of Andalusian caliphs, grew in medieval Spain, and mingled with the songs of troubadours and Sephardim—before being replanted in the Maghreb region and flourishing in Morocco.
