Pepe El Toro (Pepe the Bull) is a humble carpenter who lives in a poor Mexico City neighborhood, sharing life’s joys and troubles with his young daughter Chachita, his paralytic mother and his girlfriend Celia. Pepe begins a battle against injustice after being falsely accused of a crime. Fortunately, he is released, thanks to the support of his neighbors and friends.

The plot is further complicated by the arrival of Isabel, a bourgeois woman who has been forced to join the revolutionary struggle.
