The story is about Mateo, an 9-month-old infant who ends up alone after his mother is arrested during a teachers strike in Oaxaca. His mother’s friend offers to take him to Los Angeles, California, to try to find his father, although no one knows his whereabouts ever since he immigrated to the United States years ago.
