The story takes place in the south of Morelos state during the revolution. The young Angustias, daughter of the generous bandit Antón Farrera, suffers discrimination by her neighbors because she lives with the witch Crescencia and for refusing to be victimized by male harassment. After stabbing a “charro” (cowboy) who tried to rape her, Angustias flees to the mountains and joins the Zapatista troups. After becoming a coronel, the young woman follows her father’s teaching and imparts justice among women and peasants.
