The documentary follows the director as he searches for a house on the Basque coastline where avant-garde photographer Man Ray lived and shot his film Emak Bakia in 1926. Alegria's aim is not so much to "document" but to "explore" and so he traces (Super) Man Ray's footprints as though he were a film diver, delving deep into the depths -what we can't see on the surface- bringing us something that is far away but completely new.

Zinzindurrunkarratz

Oskar Alegría embarks on a journey to recover the past. With a Super-8 camera that once belonged to his father and has remained untouched for 41 years, he plans to retrace the path of the shepherd: the journey of transhumance that his grandfather undertook in his youth, following now-forgotten coordinates. The result is a film that delights in the search —as well as the many detours along the way.
