1963 | Color | 90 min José Luis works at a funeral home and is thinking of immigrating to Germany to become a good mechanic. He is in love with Carmen, daughter of Amadeo, an ?administrator of justice? who seems to have a solution for everything. Amadeo surprises Carmen and José Luis in a compromising situation, and the couple is forced to get married. José Luis faces economic problems and must find an apartment to start a new homelife. Amadeo, on the verge of retiring, convinces José Luis to apply for the executioner post he is about leave, and which comes with the right to a home. The only requirement posed by the Housing Council is that José Luis inherit his father-in-law?s profession. José Luis accepts, thinking he will never actually have to execute someone. As long as there are no executions, life in the new home unfolds quietly. But one day, the dreaded telegram arrives: José Luis must carry out justice on a condemned man in Mallorca. His only hope is that an official pardon be granted.
