Women who live in Ciudad Juarez organize safe havens for children in some of the most violent neighborhoods in Mexico. There, Diana, Joseph and Gael seek out the freedom that they once had on the streets, and try to heal the wounds that the violence of organized crime has caused them. A loving depiction of the search for peace in Mexico.

Portraits of a Search

While the Mexican drug war rages, thousands of mothers search for their missing children. The stories of Natividad, Guadalupe, and Margarita intertwine to convey the different ways each searches and faces uncertainty: one turns to the FBI, another to the Mexican President, and the last tries to save her grandson by returning to her routine. A portrait of Mexico today.
