Emily Wang has just spent six months in prison for drug consumption, after her husband, Lee, died of an overdose. In spite of making a tremendous effort to remake her life and reestablish a relationship with her son, Jay -- who lives in Vancouver with his grandparents -- Emily must confront one hardship after another. Alone and dependent on medicine for emotional stability, she struggles to attain the life she wants.
