María sells necklaces in the public square of a Mexican town. One day a foreigner asks her to take him to the desert. Then, the Mexican desert becomes the setting for an improbable encounter; the journey becomes a sort of ritual where the two beings contemplate and share their solitude and emotions, despite the difference in ages, language and culture.
