En 2010, su cortometraje Irma, fue parte de la Selección Oficial de una veintena de festivales y obtuvo premios como el Short: Dox en el Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival, y el Premio Eileen Maitland en el Ann Arbor Film Festival. Ese mismo año presentó Flexing Muscles, cortometraje que recorrió festivales como el DocsDF, en la Ciudad de México; el Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, en Estados Unidos, Visions du Réel- Festival International de Cinéma Nyon, en Suiza, y ganador del Premio del Jurado en el Atlanta Film Festival. Desde 2001 ha trabajado en México como fotógrafo, cineasta y profesor de videoarte en la Universidad de Ciencias y Artes de Chiapas (UNICACH), además, ha impartido talleres de cine con celulares para jóvenes becarias de comunidades indígenas de la Casa de la Mujer, en Oaxaca. Su ópera prima, codirigida con Saul Kak, La selva negra (2016), Selección Oficial del 14º FICM, se ha presentado en festivales como el Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF), México, el Visions du Réel- Festival International de Cinéma Nyon, en Suiza, entre otros. Actualmente es profesor de cine en Ohio, Estados Unidos.
