Fue ganador del 1er Lugar del Banco de Guiones de la Sociedad General de Escritores de México (SOGEM) en dos ocasiones: en 2001 por Rencor vivo y en 2002 por Sangre de Toro. Su obra ha recorrido más de diez festivales alrededor del mundo. Participó, con su cortometraje de ficción Diamante (1984), en el 1er Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG); en el 6° Festival Internacional de Cine de Amiens, Francia; y en el 11° Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto (TIFF por sus siglas en inglés), Canadá. Esta obra estuvo nominada a la Diosa de Plata a Mejor Cortometraje en la 22ª entrega de las Diosas de Plata, México. Participó, con su ópera prima Un año perdido (1993), en el 8° FICG; en el 15° Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, La Habana, Cuba; y en el 14° Festival Internacional de Cine de Amiens, Francia. Su cortometraje documental La perra del diablo (2005) formó parte de la Selección Oficial del 3er Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM) y del 21° FICG. Actualmente, se encuentra trabajando en la posproducción de su cortometraje de ficción Dulce pesar. Other Movies Mexico will no longer exist!
