Image Mora Catlett; Juan Dirección, Edición, Guión Estudió una maestría en Montaje Cinematográfico en la Facultad de Cine y Televisión de la Academia de Bellas Artes de Praga (FAMU), República Checa. Fue miembro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores del Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (CONACULTA), México, y obtuvo, entre otros reconocimientos, el Premio Universidad Nacional (PUN) en la categoría de Docencia en Artes en 2009 por su trayectoria como formador de cineastas en el Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos (CUEC-UNAM). Su obra ha recorrido más de 40 muestras y festivales alrededor del mundo, entre ellos dos ediciones del Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM). Su ópera prima Retorno a Aztlán (In Necuepaliztli in Aztlan) (1990), primera película mexicana hablada completamente en una lengua indígena, obtuvo el Gran Premio Especial del Jurado en el 7° Festival de Cine Latinoamericano de Trieste, Italia. Participó en el 4° Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM) con su largometraje de ficción Eréndira la indomable (2006); nominada al Ariel a Mejores Efectos Especiales en la 49a entrega de los premios Ariel, México; y ganadora de los premios a Mejor Película y a Mejor Director en el 8° Indio International Hispanic Film Festival (iihfilmfest), California, y de una Mención Especial en el 10° Encuentro de Cine Sudamericano, Marsella. Obtuvo, por estas dos obras, un reconocimiento en 2007 por parte de la Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP), México, en el Día Internacional de la Lengua Madre de la UNESCO, por la difusión de las lenguas indígenas en los medios de comunicación masivos (el náhuatl en Retorno a Aztlán y el purépecha en Eréndira la indomable). En el 11° FICM se presentó su cortometraje documental Manuel Álvarez Bravo, Fotógrafo (1983), el cual estuvo nominado al Ariel a Mejor Documental en la 25a entrega de los premios Ariel. Actualmente está en proceso de producción de su documental Tlalocan, la ciudad de los dioses. Other Movies Mexico will no longer exist!
