Actualmente, cursa un doctorado en Ciencias de la Información y de la Comunicación en la Universidad de Borgoña, Francia, donde trabaja en la investigación de la función social de la publicidad en México y la representación del mestizo mexicano en la imagen publicitaria, bajo la dirección del profesor Jean-Jacques Boutaud. Especializado en temas y estudios críticos sobre identidad, etiquetas sociales y prácticas ligadas al consumo y la publicidad, ha publicado diversos ensayos y crónicas en el diario Cambio de Michoacán y en La Jornada Semanal, México. Dentro de su trabajo en el área cinematográfica y audiovisual se encuentran su cortometraje de ficción Manuel y Carmen (2004), seleccionado en el 2° Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM), y el guión y dirección de la radionovela educativa Ella es Luz (2005), producida por el Estado de Michoacán.
