Estudió la licenciatura en Cinematografía en el Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos (CUEC-UNAM), Ciudad de México. Recorrió una decena de festivales alrededor del mundo con su largometraje documental El informe Toledo (2008); entre ellos el 13° Cine Las Americas International Film Festival, Austin, Texas; la 5ª edición de Ambulante Gira de Documentales, México; y el 24° Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG). Obtuvo, por esta obra, una Mención Especial en el 7° Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM); el premio a Mejor Largometraje Documental en el 8° Festival de Cine Iberoamericano de Nueva Inglaterra (NEFIAC por sus siglas en inglés); una Mención Especial en el 8° Festival Internacional de Cine Pobre de Gibara, Cuba; y una nominación al Ariel por Mejor Música Original en la 52ª entrega de los premios Ariel.
