Participó como director en el 8° Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM) con su cortometraje Danzón No. 2 (2009), que formó parte de la Selección Oficial del 32° Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, La Habana, Cuba, entre otros festivales, y que obtuvo el Premio Nacional a la Preservación y Difusión del Danzón Rosa Abdalá Gómez, en 2011. Produjo la película de Pablo Sánchez Delgado, Las lágrimas (2012), que formó parte de la Selección Oficial del 10° FICM y que obtuvo, entre otros reconocimientos, el Premio del Jurado en el 36º Festival Internacional de Escuelas de Cine Rencontres Henri Langlois, Poitiers, Francia, y el Premio Carte Blanche en el 65° Festival Internacional de Cine de Locarno, Suiza.
