Image Carrillo; Sofía Animación, Dirección, Dirección de arte, Fotografía, Guión, Producción Estudió la licenciatura en Artes Visuales en el Departamento de Imagen y Sonido (DIS) de la Universidad de Guadalajara (U. de G.). Especializada en la técnica de stop motion de animación, su obra ha recorrido más de 50 festivales alrededor del mundo y ha participado en cinco ediciones del Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM). En el 3° FICM participó con su cortometraje Vértigo (2004), ganador del Apoyo a Producciones del Fondo Estatal para la Cultura y las Artes de Jalisco. Su cortometraje Fuera de control (2008) participó, entre otros festivales, en el 6° FICM, en el 44° Festival Internacional de Cine de Chicago (CIFF por sus siglas en inglés), en el Short Film Corner del 62° Festival de Cannes y en el 25° Festival de Cine de Sundance. Su cortometraje Prita Noire (2011) obtuvo, entre otros premios, Mejor Cortometraje de Animación en el 9° FICM, en la 54ª entrega de los premios Ariel y en el 19° Festival de Cine Latino de San Diego (SDLFF por sus siglas en inglés). Su cortometraje La casa triste (2013) obtuvo también el premio a Mejor Cortometraje de Animación en el 11° FICM y en la 56ª entrega de los premios Ariel; además fue reconocido como Mejor Cortometraje Hecho en México en el 4° Oaxaca Film Fest, y como Mejor Cortometraje de Animación Drawn and Quartered en el 9° Fantastic Fest, Austin, entre otros. Con su Cerulia, ganó el 14º Concurso Nacional de Proyectos de Cortometraje del Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía (IMCINE). Fue invitada a la residencia Mexicannes, en el marco del 17º Festival Internacional de Cine de Guanajuato (GIFF por sus siglas en inglés), y con el que participó en la edición 2014 del Berlinale Talents. Su cortometraje de animación El corazón del sastre (2014) formó parte de la Selección Oficial del 12º FICM. En 2016 participó en Toronto Talent Lab y Talent Motion. Creadora de las viñetas animadas de la película XX, Pasión por el horror, antología de terror dirigida por Jovanka Vuckovic, Annie Clark, Roxanne Benjamin, Karin Kusama (Magnolia Pictures y Magnet Release, E.U., 2017). En 2017 formó parte de la Sección de Cortometraje Mexicano en la categoría de animación del XV FICM con su trabajo Cerulia. Other Movies Mexico will no longer exist!
