Juan Carlos Oñate Chirot (Ciudad de México) es cineasta, videógrafo y realizador
audiovisual especializado en animación, dirección, edición, fotografía y guion. Realizó
estudios de cine en la Academia Solaris, en Morelia, Michoacán, donde consolidó su
formación en el ámbito de la producción cinematográfica y el lenguaje audiovisual.

Entre sus obras más representativas se encuentra el cortometraje de ficción Una
estatua mutilada (2013), reconocido con una Mención Honorífica en la cuarta edición
del Festival Internacional de Cine Fantástico y de Terror Mórbido. Posteriormente
dirigió el largometraje documental El río de los sonidos (2021), producción que recibió
una Mención Honorífica en el Festival Mundial de Cine de Veracruz en 2022. En
2024 realizó el cortometraje Día de fiesta, proyecto ganador del concurso Luces,
Cámara y Acción por Michoacán, reconocimiento que impulsó la difusión de su
trabajo dentro del panorama cinematográfico regional.
