Nikté

Aranuz, actress Regina Orozco and producer Soco Aguilar gave a press
conference, attended also by Daniela Michel, director of FICM, who announced
that the film will have its premiere on Dec. 18, with 500 copies to be
distributed throughout the country. This places Nikté as the 2009 Blockbuster of
Universal Pictures.
The film is an animated proposal situated in the Olmeca period, 2,000 years
BC. Its objective is to show the values of the characters, in particular the
value of humility.
Nikté, whose voice is interpreted by Sherlyn, is an 11-year-old girl who
lives with her adopted parents in the Olmec city of Yocán. She has a selfish
attitude and deceives her village by pretending to be the "prophetic
princess."
The press conference began with the presentation of the actors in the film
by actress Regina Orozco who personifies Ih-ausú "a wise woman who is more than
100 years old and lives a hermit life in a cave and is watched over by the
"Stone Guardian." She reveals to Nikté the way to fulfill her mission."
The other characters who give life to this animated story in 2D and 3D are
Chin (Pierre Angelo), Ka´s (Pedro Armendáriz), Meztli y Diosa Luna (Regina
Torne), Kan y Kun (Eduardo Manzano), Jefe Chaneke (Silverio Palacios), Guardián
de Roca (Jorge Arvizu), Chamán Chaneke (Alex Lora), Tanké (Ro Velázquez -Los
Liquits-), Paal (Mauricio Roldán), K´in y Dios Sol (Humberto Moreno) and Xtabay
(Maya Zapata).

Soco Aguilar exhibited a clip of the Ball Game and said that the
distributor suggested that they make accommodations for children in the theaters
so kids can identify with the film, like signs in the bathrooms, giant labels on
the floor and on the escalator, all proportioned to their height.
They also presented a final trailer teaser of the film and posters,
including a lenticular with an Olmec head, whose expression changes from looking
serious to wearing a smile.
