In Caliente is part of the special program dedicated to three Mexican actresses who left their mark in Hollywood: Dolores del Río (1904-1982), Lupe Vélez (1909-1944) and Katy Jurado (1924-2002).

With the presence of FICM's president, Alejandro Ramírez, the founder and director of FICM, Daniela Michel, the president of the Academy, John Bailey, the film editor Carol Littleton and the member of the Academy, Lorenza Muñoz, the filmmaker Gregory Nava presented the film In Caliente.

"Caliente was the most luxurious place in the whole world and at that time, in the United States, it was forbidden to drink alcohol and gamble, so all the famous Hollywood actors went to Tijuana. That's why they decided to make a film about this place," said Gregory Nava.

The film tells the story of Harold Brandon's attempt to save his partner, Larry MacArthur, from marrying the gold digger Clara by taking him on vacation to Agua Caliente, Mexico. There, Larry meets the beautiful dancer Rita Gómez, not knowing that she has been the target of one of his negative reviews. When Rita discovers Larry's identity, she decides to make seduce him as revenge.
