Open air screenings: The winners share the plaza

With the cathedral in the background, the festival projector lit up the large screen in the plaza. After a week of nightly screenings, FICM said farewell to the public of Morelia with the presentation of the documentaries Paradero norte / Transfer Station North by Daniel Ulazia and Inori by Pedro González Rubio, winners of the categories of short and feature-length documentaries. Children, couples, young people and families filled the public space one more time – a confirmation that cinema is one of the best artistic expressions for collective enjoyment. The plaza in front of the cathedral was packed that mild Saturday night and a festive spirit engulfed the crowd as the 10th edition of FICM was brought to a close.

At 10 pm, the winning short films in the categories of fiction, animation and Michoacán section were shown: Para armar un helicóptero / To Put Together a Helicopter by Izabel Acevedo; Las tardes de Tintico / Tintico's Afternoons by Alejandro García; and Epilepsia by Salvador Tinajero.

The public applauded at the end of each short film, while the directors mixed with the audience during the screening.
