Image Hernández De La Peña; Luis He studied communication at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), in the State of Mexico, Mexico. He has made several audiovisual works for advertising campaigns and has received awards from the most important creative competitions in the world, including the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. He won the Mix México Award in the 6th Short Film Contest presented by the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE) and the 19th Mix México: Festival of Sexual Diversity in Film and Video, for the production of his first short film Gloria (2015). Gloria has been selected by 15 festivals around the world, including the 31st Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), United States; the 33rd Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF), Canada; and the 38th Montreal World Film Festival (WFF), Canada. The short film won the Special Jury Award at the 18th Bermuda International Film Festival (BIFF), Great Britain; the award for Best Director of a Foreign Short Film at the 4th Madrid International Film Festival (MIFF), Spain; and the Grand Prize Alternative Spirit Award (LGBTQ) Short at the 18th Flickers: Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF), United States. Gloria was part of the Official Selection of the 13th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).
