Image Erazo; Juan Manuel He graduated from the Universidad Panamericana (UP), Mexico. He has worked as the director and editor of various documentary and animation projects. He participated as assistant director in Abolición de la propiedad (2012), directed by Jesús Magaña Vázquez, among other Mexican films. He worked in the film production company Postal Pictures in Mexico. He is co-founder of Alterritorios, a platform for experimental workshops in creation and cultural investigation, and the independent publishing house Merma, vasija troceada de letras y grafias. In 2013 he founded object a, the nomad experimental film laboratory. His short film Fantôme (2013) received the Best Experimental Short Film Award at the 16th Ícaro Festival and was presented at the 17th Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF), Mexico. He received support from the National Council for Culture and the Arts (CONACULTA), Mexico, and Trofeo a la Vida, S.A. de C.V. to make his documentary project El último querreque (2014). His short film Siguientes en la fila (2014) won the Ciudades Culturales competition organized by CONACULTA and Trofeo a la Vida S.A. de C.V. and was presented at the 18th GIFF and the 6th Ay! Guana Shorts! Guanajuato Short Film Fest, Mexico. His short film Arbeit Macht Frei (2015) was part of the Official Selection of the 13th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). He is currently in the post-production stage for his debut feature film Impasse (2015), the winning project of the La Cultura nos Convoca a Todos competition organized by the Fundación Abrakadabra and CONACULTA.
