Image Cuarón; Carlos Screenwriter and film director, he has written several screenplays in collaboration with his brother, Alfonso Cuarón, including the feature films by Alfonso: Sólo con tu pareja (1991), which won the Best Original Screenplay Award at the 34th Ariel Awards, Mexico, and Y tu mamá también (2001), which won the Best Screenplay Award at the 58th Venice International Film Festival, Italy. His work as director has been presented at numerous festivals around the world, including two editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). His first feature film Rudo y Cursi (2008), starring Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna, received eight nominations at the 51st Ariel Awards, Mexico, including Best First Film, Best Actor and Best Art Design. His short fiction film The Second Bakery Attack was part of the Official Selection at the 8th FICM. At the 11th FICM, he presented his second feature film Besos de azúcar (2013), which also participated in the 21st San Diego Latino Film Festival (SDLFF), among others, and which received eight nominations at the 43rd Silver Goddess Awards, Mexico, including Best Picture, Best Direction, Best Screenplay and Best Editing.
