Orozco Hernández; Rodrigo

As an independent visual artist, he has presented his work at various cultural centers and galleries in Mexico and around the world. He participated in the 15th and 16th Salón Estatal de la Acuarela at the Casa de la Cultura of Morelia. He has had three individual exhibits in Mexico: “Las Cosas Perdidas” at the Centro de Arte Chapultepec, Morelia, in 2011; “Asnar Nama”, at the David Alfaro Siqueiros Gallery of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Michoacán University of Saint Nicolás of Hidalgo (UMICH), Morelia, in 2012; and “Presagios de Eternidad” at the Galería Casa Diana, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, in 2014. He has also participated in the collective exhibit “Imaginario Colectivo”, in 2012, presented at the Centro Cultural Clavijero, Morelia. He has received various awards for this work, including an Honorable Mention at the 14th Encuentro Estatal de Pintura y Estampa “Efraín Vargas”; First Place at the 22nd Concurso de Altares de Día de Muertos de Morelia; First Place at the 4th “Caminos de la Libertad” International Competition, organized by Televisión Azteca; and an Honorable Mention at the 5th edition of “Caminos de la Libertad.” In 2014, he presented his first individual exhibition outside Mexico “SPECTRAL CAVE” at the Hyaena Gallery, Los Angeles, United States, and write an illustrated story called El circo de las miniaturas. In his cinematographic work, he was art director and miniature and character creator for the animated short film Dr. Onco (2013) by Yadira Arellano, winner of the I. SAT Special Award at the 11th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). His short film Manuscrito de un mundo invisible (2014) was part of the Official Selection of the 12th FICM, and his short film La hora de los sueños (2015) was part of the Official Selection of the 13th FICM.
