Image Reyes, Fernando He studied contemporary art at the Universidad de San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), Ecuador; cinematography at the CUEC-UNAM film school and theater direction at CasAzul Argos, Mexico City. His work has been presented at more than 20 film screenings, festivals and galleries around the world. In 2005, he created a “visual band”, alongside Gabriela Karolys and Chris Akerman, called “Electron Psychopath”, which consists of the creation, projection, manipulation and editing of images live, and was presented at various nightclubs and art galleries, including, the Venice Artists Movement United (VAMU), Los Angeles, California, and the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (OCCCCA), Santa Ana, United States. He participated with his short fiction film Triángulo sin ángulos (Cogito ergo sum) (2005), in the 3rd Morelia International Film Festival (FICM); the 17th Girona Film Festival, Spain; and the 9th Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, LA Short Fest, United States, among others. He won the Best Short Film Award at the Concurso Filmaka 2007 for Profecías incumplidas (2007), which was presented at the exposition “Se Permuta” at the experimental art museum Ex Teresa Arte Actual, Mexico, and the art gallery Heliogàbal, Barcelona, Spain, among others.
