Image Sampson, Arturo He studied cinematography at the CCC film school in Mexico City. He participated in Berlinale Talents 2005 and received the Young Creators Grant of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) during the period 2009-2010. He is partner and production director of the production and distributing company CANANA. He participated in the 5th Mecal Barcelona International Short and Animation Film Festival and the 2nd Mexico City International Horror Film Festival Macabro (Macabro FICH, in spanish), among others, with his short fiction film El pez rojo (2002), which won the Special Jury Award at the 5th Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF). His short fiction film Godot (2005) was presented at more than 10 festivals around the world, including the 3rd Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), the 2nd Be Film The Underground Film Festival (BTUFF), New York, and the 8th GIFF. He participated in the 8th Pamplona Film Festival, among others, with his short documentary Lo último en moda (2007), which won the Best Documentary Film award at the 5th Manlleu Short Film Festival, Barcelona. He is producer, among other films, of Cochochi (2007) by Israel Cárdenas and Laura Amelia Guzmán, selected for the 5th FICM, as well as of Paraíso (2013), by Mariana Chenillo, and Manto acuífero (2013), by Michael Rowe, both selected for the 11th FICM.
