Gerber Bicecci; Alejandro

He studied cinematography at the CCC film school in Mexico City. His work has participated in more than 100 film showings and festivals around the world. His short documentary film Onces (2002) was presented at the 1st Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), the 3rd Independent Hispanic American Film and Video Festival, “All Voices Against the Silence,” Mexico, and the 10th Barcelona Independent Film Festival L’Alternativa, among others. His short documentary film Morada (2003) won the Audience Award for Best Short Film at the 1st FICM, the Gold Mikeldi for Documentary Films at the 46th Bilbao International Festival of Documentary and Short Films – Zinebi, and First Place at the 1st Festival Residus Millor en Curt, Barcelona, among others. He received a Special Mention at the 7th FICM for his first feature film Vaho (2009), which won the Jury Special Award at the 10th Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM in French) and was nominated for an Ariel for Best Music Score at the 53rd Ariel Awards Ceremony, Mexico. His feature fiction film Viento aparte (2014) received an award at the 5th “Alejandro Galindo” Screenwriting Improvement Workshop, organized by the Mexican Institute of Directors-Audio Visual Creators. Viento aparte participated in the 29th Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG in Spanish), Mexico; the 30th Warsaw Film Festival (WFF), Poland; the 20th Kolkata International Film (KIFF), India; the 36th Habana Film Festival, Cuba; the 69th Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF), Scotland; and won the Audience Award at the 18th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival in Austin, Texas, United States. His short film Luces brillantes (2015) is part of the Official Selection of the 13th FICM.
