When a refrigerator appears out of nowhere, Sotera and her friend Erick try to sell it and make a big profit. However, the refrigerator soon begins to reveal mysterious things to people who approach it. Meanwhile, Sotera must face the possibility that her mom may not return to take her to the United States and that it is not yet time to leave La Raya."This story was born out of a long process. It began in film school intending to recount the adventures of my childhood. On my return to Mexico, after 20 years, I wanted to update this story, taking advantage of my experience as a documentary filmmaker, which has taught me to observe,” Yolanda Cruz explained.On the use of comedy in the film, the director emphasized the importance of addressing issues related to marginalization from different perspectives: “ Crude realities are often portrayed, which are very sad and tragic. But humor is also very important within our communities, and I wanted to capture those moments,” she added.The film competes in the Mexican Feature Film Section and had a gala screening on Sunday, October 20.
