Yolanda Cruz presents First Nations Forum

For the fifth consecutive year, the Morelia International Film Festival presents the First Nations Forum. This year's forum, sponsored by Arcelor Mittal, the world's leading steel company, pays tribute to Yolanda Cruz, a Oaxacan-born filmmaker who currently lives in Los Angeles.

FICM Director Daniela Michel welcomed Cruz and praised her work in support of Mexico's indigenous communities.

Speaking for Arcelor Mittal, Verónica Hernández, director of corporate affairs, said that Cruz gave a voice to indigenous people through her work in film.

Cruz in turn thanked the festival for its hospitality and for the support it has given filmmakers through its programming and other events.
