Tatiana Huezo Presented Noche de Fuego at the 19th FICM

The 19th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) was home to the presentation of the film Noche de fuego (2021), by Tatiana Huezo. The screening was attended by the film's director as well as the president of the festival, Alejandro Ramírez; the director of the festival, Daniela Michel; the film's producer, Nicolás Celis; and composer Leonardo Heiblum.

"It is a film that I had the opportunity to see at the last Cannes Festival. This magnificent film is going to represent Mexico in the race for the Oscars, which we are delighted to see. She's one of the greatest most inspiring female filmmakers in Mexico for the whole world," said Daniela Michel, thnking the filmmaker for participating as a jury in the festival.

Tatiana Huezo thanked Daniela Michel for her "generous and loving words." Adding, "it is an honor and a huge opportunity for the festival to invite us to have this special screening and share our work with Morelia's audience."

Noche de fuego is set in a mountain town in Mexico, where three girls make a playground out of houses abandoned by fugitives. They dress up as women away from the gaze of others and find refuge in hiding places to escape from those who could kidnap them. However, the dark echoes of violence become an inevitable threat.
