This year the winner was Lizeth Arellano, an artist from Oaxaca, with her short film Max. Lizeth thanked FICM and Stella Artois for the opportunity to show what young people want to do. For her, it's important to bring visibility to the work that she creates in her hometown, to be able to express herself freely and to delve into topics that she is passionate about. Max tells the story of a blind accordionist who plays on the streets of the city of Oaxaca. To the beat of the music, Max shares his dreams and his adversities.

Stray (2020), directed by the talented Elizabeth Lo, has screened at many other international festivals before arriving at the 19th edition of FICM; the reception has been magnificent in all of them. The film deals with the story of a trio of stray dogs that roam the streets of Istanbul. Through the eyes of the dogs, an intimate portrait of life in the city, its people, and its dynamics can be appreciated.
