“Eugenio Polgovsky: La poética de lo real” Presented at the 19th FICM

The book Eugenio Polgovsky:  La poética de lo real was presented virtually at the 19th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). Mara Polgovsky (Birkbeck, University of London), Paulina Suárez (Ambulante), Kieron Corless (Sight and Sound) and Jean Meyer (CIDE) participated during the broadcast.

The book gathers anecdotes from twelve personalities in the film industry, including Dennis Lim, Olaf Möller, Diego Lerer, Carlos Bonfil, Kieron Corless, Erica Segre, Michel Lipkes, Deborah Martin, Hubert Sauper, and Carlos Reygadas, among others.

Paulina Suárez began the presentation by talking about the role of Ambulante Ediciones which published this book in alliance with Tecolote Films. Later, Mara Polgovsky, book editor and the director's sister, thanked the festival for opening this space, which for her represents the closing of a cycle full of work. She took the opportunity to recognize the enormous affection of all the guests when writing, as she received affectionate comments, "the book was made by itself. Eugenio did it with his way of being," she added.

Mara Polgovsky was in charge of introducing Kieron Corless, editor of Sight and Sound magazine, and Jean Meyer, CIDE researcher, who played a very important role in the development of the book.
