He was the director of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) from 2008-2015. IFFR is an important international industry platform for launching new films, concepts and talent, as well as one of the largest public film events in the world. Before this, he made renowned contemporary art exhibitions and publications. First as a curator at Witte de With, later as director of De Vleeshal, both in the Netherlands. In these exhibitions and publications Wolfson explored the boundaries of the visual arts and other art forms, as well as the place of art (and the museum) in society. He is currently advising several international cultural organizations.
