Roland Herlory presents Hearts and Crafts

FICM President Alejandro Ramírez spoke about the festival’s alliance with Hermès, which since last year has donated the director’s chair that is given to the winner of the Best Feature Film category. Last year, the honor went to Julio Hernández Cordón for his movie, Marimbas from Hell.

In making Hearts and Crafts, the directors visited Hermès workshops in different parts of France, Herlory said. The film depicts the work of the artisans who produce Hermès’ fashions.

The movie “demonstrates the dignity and human capacity evident in manual labor and in things that are well-made,” Herlory said.
