Director Rodrigo García presented his latest feature film alongside Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Bátel, vice president of the festival.The filmmaker thanked the audience before the screening began and asked for a round of applause for the cast members who were present at the Mariano Matamoros Theater in Morelia's Historic Center.Las locuras tells the story of six women going through a self-discovery journey marked by confinement, self-censorship, and social and family pressure. The film embraces the intensity and authenticity of human emotions when they are pushed to the limit. The director shared part of their filming process and explained that the story is inspired by a friend's experience with bipolar disorder.Actress Cassandra Ciangherotti spoke about the relationship she established with her character: “The deep empathy I felt towards her was the fact that her mother had left when she was so young [...]. I can see broken relationships more clearly. Rather than focusing on mental health these days, we should focus on how we relate to each other.” After the screening, the cast answered questions from the audience and were repeatedly praised for their portrayal of each of their characters.
