The directors spoke to a captive audience, who applauded excitedly at the end of the event. Los que se quedan is about the phenomenon of migration but seen through the eyes of those left behind waiting for the return of their family members. It is a situation that is very present in the state of Michoacán, where a large number of people immigrate to the United States. The crowd that attended the film’s screening was completely won over, which was obvious by their applause and positive comments, and reiterated once again by the resounding “yes” when asked by Rulfo, “You liked the film? Would you recommend it?” which was then met with more applause.
