He participated in the Berlinale Talent Campus in 2010. His documentary short film El organillero (2006) was nominated for an Ariel Award at the 49th awards ceremony and was presented at the Outstanding Shorts from International Festivals at MoMA in New York in 2008. His short film Cerraduras (2009) competed at the 8th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) and participated at the 31st New Latin American Film Festival in Havana and at the 34th Sao Paulo International Film Festival.
