Image Sistos Moreno, Jorge Direction, Edition, Script He is a writer/director from Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico. He is a proud former student of the prestigious MFA in Film Production at New York University (NYU). He is also a graduate in Philosophy from UMICH, he has been a fellow of Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes, Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, and of Fomento Jumex Arte Contemporáneo, as well as prestigious film funds, including the Film Production Award from cult director Spike Lee, for his short film IN FREEDOM. Currently, he is developing his first feature film entitled La Ausencia, which was accepted in the NEXT STEP 2022 Critics' Week workshop. His work focuses around the mysticism of the Mexican province, magical realism and the horror genre. His films have been screened at the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes, Morelia, Olhar de Cinema y Fantasia. Recently, he was featured in Filmmaker Magazine's renowned annual publication 25 New Faces of Independent Film 2022 and this year he is one of the Mexicans accepted into Berlinale Talents 2023 and its script station.
