He won the Ariel for Best Short Film for Café Paraíso in 2009 and for El último canto del pájaro Cú in 2011. His feature fiction film Güeros was part of the 12th Morelia International Film Festival's Official Selection. His short fiction film Green (2016) is part of the Official Selection of the 14th FICM.
