Image Ríos, Alejandro He studied animation and digital art at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), Mexico City campus. His short film Érase una vez (2011) won the award for Best Animated Short Film at the 9th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) and at the 1st Costa Rica International Film Festival Paz con la Tierra. He won an Honorable Mention at the 4th Animasivo, Contemporary Animation Forum for Hubiera (2010). His most recent work Los gatos (2016), Official Selection of the 14th FICM, won the Rigo Mora Award for Best Animated Short Film at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), Best Mexican Short Film at the Durango Festival of Mexican Cinema and the Palmita Award granted by the French Cinema Tour in Mexico. He is the co-founder of the creative studio Muv, a project that experiments with new formats such as virtual reality in Mexico City.
