His short film Susurros de luz (2008) won a Special Mention at the 6th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM); Best Short Documentary at the 5th International Festival of Short Films “Relatos Cortos”; and Best Short Documentary at the 16th San Diego Latino Film Festival (SDLFF), among other awards.
