His work has been presented at more than 10 film showings and festivals around the world and has won several awards, including a Special Mention at the 51st Rochester International Film Festival for his short fiction film El amante del padrino (2009) and the Four Stars Award at the British International Amateur Film Festival (BIAFF) for his musical video Hip Hop International for the hip hop group 12. His short fiction film El hecho imposible (2003) participated in the 1st Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) and won, among other awards, the Golden Palm Award in the Student Film Competition at the 5th Mexico International Film Festival, Baja California; Best Foreign Film at the 3rd 15-Minutes of Fame Film Festival, Palm Bay, Florida; and the Northern Lights Emerging Talent Award at the 1st edition of the Alaska International Film Awards (AIFA).
