Image Gutiérrez, Pepe He took a course on film appreciation at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) and he studied cinematography at the University Center for Film Studies (CUEC-UNAM), in Mexico City. In 2012, he founded the production company Los no ricos films, he participated in Guadalajara Talents and was a member of the jury for the Mezcal Award at the 29th Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG). He participated in the 11th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) with his short fiction film El río ahí entre los árboles (2013). A year later he presented Los pájaros miran hacia el norte, which participated in the 14th international student meeting during the 63rd San Sebastián International Film Festival, in Spain, and in the 36th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema of Havana, in Cuba. In 2015, he was part of the film lab “for a possible cinema” with the filmmakers Matías Piñeiro and Nicolás Pereda; he was also part of DocuLab Guadalajara. One of his latest works, El brillo de tus ojos se extinguirá con la oscuridad del mundo (2016), part of the Official Selection of the 14th FICM, has been shown in festivals like the 44th Huesca International Film Festival, in Spain. He is currently a beneficiary of the Young Creators scholarship granted by the Mexican National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA), and he is editing his film thesis for the CUEC-UNAM.
