Image Garza, Carlos Alonso He studied communication at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), Mexico, and received a master’s degree in scriptwriting for film and television from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), Spain. He was a recipient of the 16th Creative and Artistic Development Stimulus Program grant (PEDCA-FONECA), given by the National Art Council (CONARTE) in the rubric of Young Creators, Nuevo León, Mexico, to make his short fiction film Bajo cualquier cielo (2008). The film was part of the Official Selection of the 6th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), of the 16th International Short Film Festival of Santiago (FIDOCS), Chile, and the 2nd International Film Festival on Human Rights in Mexico (DHFEST). It won the 2nd Short Film Screenwriting Contest Nuevo León for his screenplay Los animales también mueren de tristeza (2008).
