In 2002, he took part in the first edition of the festival with his short film Solicitamos asesinos. He later won the Michoacan Short Film Screenplay Competition for La lluvia que no llueve (2008) and Pueblo silente (2012), at the sixth and tenth editions of the festival, respectively. In 2012, he premiered his debut feature film, Enero, at the 11th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival. After this, he co-directed his second fiction feature film, Andrea en una caja, with Juan Alberto Malo, which was part of the Official Selection of the festival’s 12th edition.
