Quemar las naves at the 49th Muestra de la Cineteca Nacional (Cineteca Nacional Movie Program)

[imagen]Quemar las naves by Francisco Franco won Premio del Público at the 5th Festival de Cine de Morelia, this movie is part of the program that will be running at the 49th Muestra de la Cineteca Nacional.

The Movie Program will also show: 4 meses, tres semanas and dos días by Rumanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu, winner of the Palm d’Or at Cannes; XXY by Argentinian Lucía Puenzo winner of the Critics Week Grand Prize at Cannes and Viaje a Dajeeling by Wes Anderson, all these movies were shown at the 5th Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia.

[imagen]The other movies that are part of the 49th Program are: the renown classic: Belle de Jour (France-Italy, 1967), by Luis Buñuel –an exclusive copy from the Cineteca will be shown–; Bella todos los días (Portugal-France, 2006), by Manoel de Oliveira; Cobrador. In God we Trust (Mexico-Argentina-Spain-Brazil, 2006), by Paul Leduc; Paranoid Park by US filmmaker Gus Van Saint, who got the Grand Prize at the 60th Cannes Festival; No quiero dormir solo (Taiwan-Malaysia-China-France-Austria, 2006), by Tsai Ming-liang; Tú que estás vivo (Sweden-Germany-France-Denmark-Norway, 2007) by Roy Anderson.

[imagen]The 49th Muestra de la Cineteca Nacional, will exhibit 21 movies beginning today Thursday November 8th, until December 20th at Mexico City and from December 4th to April 13th at Aguascalientes, Guadalajara, Morelia, León, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Villahermosa, Monterrey, Saltillo, Torreón, Ciudad Víctoria, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, San Cristóbal de las Casas, Campeche and Mérida.
