A Press Conference Held for EL HIJO DE SU PADRE by Aarón Fernández at the 22nd FICM

As part of the 22nd Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), a press conference was held for the film El Hijo de su Padre, directed by Aarón Fernández. The event was held at the emblematic Melchor Ocampo Theater and was attended by the director, actors Florencia Ríos and Daniel Damuzi, and producer Elsa Reyes.

During his introduction, Daniel Damuzi, who plays the main character, Gabriel, emphasized that the film is an inner journey: “It is about rediscovering things we thought we had overcome”. Actress Florencia Ríos stressed the relevance of the main theme: “I think it is important to talk about this type of fatherhood; can a father ever be really alone?"

Aarón Fernández, director of the film, spoke about the motivation behind Gabriel's character. “It was very important to me that Daniel's character assumed the role of father voluntarily, not that he was forced into it,” he mentioned. He added that he intended to address fatherhood from a single man's perspective. He also reflected on the opportunity that FICM represents for the project: “FICM is a great platform for us and I hope that soon everyone will be able to see the film."

The film follows the story of Gabriel, who, upon learning that his mother, Esther, plans to sell the family home, revisits the emotional void left by his father, Arturo. Caught between refusing to sell and confusion about his own paternity, Gabriel embarks on a process of introspection to heal his past wounds.

Finally, the actors, director and producer praised the work of the child actor Samuel Pérez, who is a key part of the film, emphasizing his performance and dedication to the project.
