Short filmmakers present Program 4 of the FICM

[imagen]Short stories that come from experiences, anecdotes or literature. These are the components that characterize the short films in Program 4 in the competition. The program is made up of the following films: Rubén Rojo Aura’s Carretera del norte; Federico Gutiérrez’s Vroom! Vroom!; Julián Hernández’s Vago rumor de mares en zozobra; Elisa Miller’s Roma; and Pablo Taméz’s La espera, and were shown to audiences by the directors.

Before the being seen by the audience, the filmmakers talked in a press conference about how these films were made for school thesis projects (Roma and La espera), as well as for individual reasons (Vago rumor de mares en zozobra and Vroom! Vroom!) that allowed them to develop very personal ideas, with the intention of showing their work to film festival audiences, as it was difficult to show this type of film at commercial theaters.

At the end of the event, the audience struck up a very friendly chat with the directors, who seemed surprised and pleased to hear such positive comments about their films. Above all, they were praised for the details they put into their films, sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident.

Program 4 will continue to be shown throughout the festival. Check the listings for times.
