FICM at Celebrate Mexico Now in New York

Since 2004, the Celebrate Mexico Now festival has been an open window to all types of Mexican cultural and artistic expressions, celebrating approximately 215 artists at 75 different venues throughout its history. This year, in its 10th anniversary, it presents once again the best in contemporary literature, visual arts, film and music of our country from September 12 to 21.

Tenth anniversary of Celebrate Mexico Now

FICM will participate in Celebrate Mexico Now 2013 with a program of award-winning short films from our 2012 edition. The event will be held on Friday, September 20, at 7 pm at the School of Visual Arts, 209 East 23rd St. The films that will be shown are:

- La madre, by Ernesto Martínez Bucio (Premio Especial Studio 5 de mayo)
- Epilepsia, by Salvador Tinajero Ponce (Best Work from the Michoacán Section)
- Las tardes de Tintico, by Alejandro García Caballero (Best Animated Short Film)
- Para armar un helicóptero, by Izabel Acevedo (Best Fiction Short Film)

The screening will be followed by a question-and-answer session with Daniela Alatorre (FICM) and Carlos Gutiérrez (Cinema Tropical). All of the short films will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles and entrance is free of charge.
