Four outstanding personalities to receive Donostia Award

The Donostia Award was created in 1986 to honor outstanding film personalities. Gregory Peck received the first award, followed by other figures including Bette Davis, Anthony Perkins, Susan Sarandon, Catherine Deneuve, Al Pacino, John Malkovich, Anthony Hopkins, Fernando Fernán-Gómez, Robert De Niro, Julie Andrews, Francis Ford Coppola, Isabelle Huppert, Sean Penn, Woody Allen, Jeff Bridges, Antonio Banderas and Ian McKellen, to mention a few.

This year, the festival will honor the most recent work by four men who have stood out in the international film world. Ewan McGregor, described by the festival as "one of the best actors of his generation," will present the European premiere of The Impossible by Juan Antonio Bayona. Tommy Lee Jones, "one of the most acclaimed and respected actors in Hollywood," will present his latest film Hope Springs by David Frankel, co-starring Meryl Streep.

The emblematic director Oliver Stone will present the Spanish premiere of Savages in San Sebastián, accompanied by John Travolta and Benicio del Toro, who starred in the film. Best known for sparking the disco phenomenon of the seventies in Saturday Night Fever (1977) and for interpreting the unforgettable Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction (1994), Travolta will also receive the Donostia Award. These names will be added to the list of important film personalities who have been the recipients of this prestigious award.
